How can I report violence against a child in Scotland?

Q: I don't know the child, I just saw him being hit a few times by his father in front of his house. I want to know who I should tell, to get them to visit the house and check on the child. Hmm, so punching a child in the stomach and kicking him while he's on the ground crying is discipline? I really really hope you're not a parent. I do know why the father punched and kicked his son, because the child, who was about 12, kept saying 'I don't want to go to school'. So instead of talking about it, the father punched him in the stomach.

A: Call social services, or social care as they are now called, it's best if you leave yr name as they get a lot of spiteful/vindictive malicious calls so if you leave yr name they are less likely to treat it that way. You could call the police but unless it's happening now they're unlikely to do much as it's yr word against the abusers. here's a link to find yr local social services http://www.moreuk.com/social_services/scotland
